WHAT PERSONAL DATA I COLLECT AND WHY
When you use the contact form on this website, I collect:
• Your name
• Your email address
• Any other information you choose to include in your message
I collect this information solely to respond to your enquiry. I do not use it for any other purpose without asking you first.
MY LAWFUL BASIS FOR PROCESSING YOUR DATA
Under UK data protection law, I must have a lawful basis for collecting and using your personal information.
For contact form enquiries, I rely on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) of UK GDPR). My legitimate interest is to respond to enquiries submitted by people who have actively chosen to contact me. Processing your details is necessary for this purpose and is unlikely to outweigh your rights and interests, since you have chosen to reach out and would expect a reply.
WHO I SHARE YOUR DATA WITH
Personal data is not sold, rented, or traded with third parties.
This website is hosted by Squarespace (squarespace.com), which acts as a data processor. Enquiry information submitted through the website may be received and stored through Squarespace’s platform and through my associated email and cloud storage services, including Google Gmail and Apple iCloud, which I use to access, store and manage enquiry-related communications and files across my devices.
Squarespace stores data on servers in the United States. In addition, enquiry emails and related files may be processed or stored using Google Gmail and Apple iCloud, which may use data centres outside the UK. These transfers are protected through recognised UK data protection safeguards used by those providers, such as data transfer frameworks and standard contractual clauses described in their privacy and security documentation.
Personal data may also be disclosed where required by law or where necessary to comply with a legal obligation.
HOW LONG I KEEP YOUR DATA
I will keep your enquiry for as long as is reasonably necessary to respond to you and for a short period afterwards in case you follow up (typically no longer than 2 years). If no ongoing relationship develops, I will delete your details securely after this time.
YOUR RIGHTS
Under UK data protection law, you have the following rights:
• Right of access — you can ask me for a copy of the personal data I hold about you.
• Right to rectification — you can ask me to correct personal data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
• Right to erasure — you can ask me to delete your personal data in certain circumstances.
• Right to restriction of processing — you can ask me to limit how I use your personal data.
• Right to object to processing — you have the right to object to me processing your data on the basis of legitimate interests.
• Right to data portability — you can ask me to transfer your personal data to another organisation or to you in a common format.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact me using the details at the top of this notice. I will respond within one month.
COMPLAINTS
If you have any concerns about how I have handled your personal data, please contact me in the first instance using the details above. I will:
• Acknowledge your complaint within 30 days of receiving it
• Investigate and respond to you as promptly as possible
• Keep you informed of the outcome
